I have been a professional photographer for over five years and three years ago I started my own company, KPMedia Artistic Collective. I immediately new I needed a website and went on the hunt for the best web host. After reading reviews, comparing different web hosts and considering the prices of the various hosts, I decided on HostMonster for my site. Although I paid a little more than other web hosts, it looked like I would be getting what I paid for, so I made the investment. I definitely regret choosing HostMonster as my host. I signed up for a one year subscription to the host, and although I was happy with the control panel, the support staff, and the web templates, during the time I had my website hosted by HostMonster I stumbled upon a slew of other hosts that had all of the same features at a fraction of the price. As soon as my subscription with HostMonster was done, I immediately switched to a less expensive host and I have not noticed a single difference. Maybe if I was a tech geek I would see little idiosyncrasies that HostMonster features that my current web host does not, but for my purposes, I am very happy with my new host and that I left HostMonster. I have saved significant money and I have been able to put that money towards my business.
I would rate HostMonster 2 out of 5 stars. It just is not worth the price tag.
